" On behalf of Rye Harbour Sailing Club, I would like to you and your team for building the clubs new changing rooms.Going the last mile to diligently get things right and the attention to detail, much appreciated. A lot of work has gone to produce an exceptionally high standard of building, resulting in very smart and up to date facilities. This really does usher in a new chapter providing it with a viable and sustainable future. With the accessible facilities the club can now encourage a more diverse section of the local community to sail.

There were some glitches along the way and thank you for always bringing to the table sound solutions as well as a desire to keep the job on track for completion, which was on time. I would also like to thank you for removing the obsolete sanitary ware from the old shower rooms – all this work generously done and at no extra cost by way of giving something back to the club.

Finally it was delight to work with Andrew Tollett. He did an excellent job. His interpersonal skills, used to ensure health and safety standards were maintained, were very impressive. He also made sure that the club house was left clean and tidy for any event that we had lined up for the weekends.

At the end of the job, the club house was left cleaned with everything removed.

Many thanks again for a job well done!"

W Tollett work on projects grand, small and everything in between. As well as general building and domestic work we carry out a lot of highly skilled and specialist work on a much larger scale. From underfloor heating in churches, to water defence walls to protect from subsidence. Take a look at a few of our bigger projects here.

RYE HARBOUR SAILING CLUB

PROJECTS

We successfully tendered and contracted to build the new Welfare Facilities to the Clubhouse, we had a strict Budget to work with along with the daily threat of High Tides!

From demolition to decoration we completed the work on time and on budget and no one got wet feet.

HOUSE BY THE STREAM

We were called out to look at some subsidence of a garden wall, it was quickly found to be more serious than first thought. The house which dates back to the 1800 was close to being affected and required some urgent action to prevent it from slipping into the stream.

The work was carried out with the help of a local Structural Engineer, we worked quickly to provide temporary shoring followed by a new retaining gabion wall, there was a lot of paperwork required by the Environment Agency as the stream was occupied by migratory trout, we had to design risk mitigation to the streams occupants to ensure no pollution occurred along with redirecting the stream and working safely below ground this accompanied by no direct mechanical access to the rear of the property provided its own headaches.

The work is ongoing and wasn’t covered by insurance!

SEDLESCOMBE CHURCH

We were approached by the Diocese Architects who we have worked for in the past to Tender for an interesting job installing underfloor heating in a church in Sedlescombe. We were successful in being awarded with the contract to complete the works over a 6 month period, the works included protection of the church fabric, removing the floor and excavating under the watch of the Diocese Archaeologists, installing a modern recycled glass insulation and specialist underfloor heating system and sympathetically rebuilding and putting the church back together.

The works become interesting when we uncovered tombs buried beneath the floor which hadn’t been exposed since they were laid, an interesting job completed to a high standard, successfully and highly rewarding work.
